Jenda Studies Drag Open Mic at BookBurn Cafe and Social
January 14, 2029 @ 8:30 pm – 10:30 pm
Get ready for Jenda Studies, a high-energy drag open mic night in Orlando at BookBurn Cafe and Social. This creative queer nightlife event celebrates individuality, performance, and community with themed entertainment, special guests, and opportunities for emerging performers to shine.
This week’s theme is inspired by iconic teen TV shows, with performers bringing looks, music, and performances inspired by favorite Nickelodeon and Disney moments. Guests can expect a fun, nostalgic, and interactive night filled with drag, music, and bold creativity.
Jenda Studies welcomes a wide range of performances, including drag, singing, dancing, monologues, slam poetry, and more. Performers do not have to appear in drag, but everyone is encouraged to dress to impress and bring their own unique style to the stage.
The event features special guests Cara Cavalli and Ellla Mayo, with music by Nani Soul Pro. Open mic performers are split between two shows, creating an exciting lineup throughout the night.
Hosted at BookBurn Cafe and Social Lounge in Orlando, Jenda Studies reflects the venue’s mission to create a safe, affirming space for queer community, nightlife, creativity, and self-expression.
Open mic sign-ups are hosted weekly through the Jenda Studies Instagram page, where performers can submit their name through a Google Form on a first come, first served basis. Monthly themes are announced in advance, and performances should connect to the weekly research topic in some way.
